  • Program Statement

The Toy Box was established to provide high quality childcare services for parents of infants, toddler, preschoolers and school age children of our community.  The Toy Box will provide exceptional care and educational opportunities through a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment based on trust and respect. Each child is uniquely individual and deserving of an environment that promotes growth of the whole child physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually. This will be accomplished through a partnership between the parents, the educators, community partners and the children.

Conducive to this growth is an environment that is warm, loving, challenging and inclusive to all children and families. To ensure that such an environment is created at The Toy Box we seek to employ the most competent available educators.  Each educator is subject to Vulnerable Criminal Reference Checks and are required to be fully trained in First Aid/CPR. All educators are required to review all policies and procedure upon starting employment and then annually.

    Our educators are responsible to:

    • Adapt the environment and routines as necessary to meet the needs of all children enrolled in the program.
    • Create an appropriate environment that includes a range of materials and experiences to support the positive development of all children enrolled in the program.
    • Arrange a balance of large and small experiences, both vigorous and quiet so that all children can be active and interactive participants at their own level.
    • Work together with our community partners and parent to accomplish shared goals.
    • Modify curriculum and classrooms to meet the needs of children’s individual program plans. These modifications are made through collaboration between the parent, The Toy Box and other supporting community agencies.
